Who are we?

U2nc, a private limited company, is one of the main dialysis operators of the health system in New Caledonia. It monitors and treats kidney failure with its two partners, i.e., the Gaston Bourret territorial hospital (CHT, Médipôle) and the Association pour la prévention et le traitement de l’insuffisance rénale (Atir).

Under the approval of the local health authorities, all three guarantee an optimal care to patients.

Quality first

Within U2nc, a hundred professionals act to improve the patient’s quality of life.

In 2017, U2nc, together with its partner Atir, embarked on a quality approach aimed at the certification of the French High Authority for Health (HAS). It involves its medical, paramedical and administrative teams in:

  • a constant process of risk analysis for the safety of care;
  • the evaluation of their professional practices;
  • the continuous improvement of the quality of its services, in the information of patients and respect of their rights.

In connection with this approach, U2nc participates in several bodies:

  • the CMN, i.e., the medical commission of nephrology;
  • the CDU, i.e., the commission for users;
  • the CPIAS-Dia, i.e., the committee for the prevention of infections associated with care in dialysis;
  • the CLUD-Dia, i.e., the committee for the prevention and fight against pain;
  • the CoQSS, i.e., the committee for the quality and safety of care.

U2nc and Atir have also written, with the patients, a charter summarizing the rights of the latter.
