U2nc treats kidney diseases (particularly chronic kidney disease) from the prevention stage through to full hospitalisation. Its goal is to slow the progression of the disease.
In its care units, U2nc offers patients all dialysis techniques according to their profile, state of health and degree of autonomy. It also intervenes upstream of dialysis by providing nephrology consultations in Nouméa, Koné, Bourail and La Foa. Finally, it is involved in the New Caledonia kidney transplant program by preparing patients to use this mode of treatment.
To achieve our mission, we rely on state–of–the–art equipment (state–of-the–art dialysis and water treatment generators, Doppler ultrasound, connected stethoscopes, etc.). We also have a pharmacy for internal use which allows us to control the corresponding supply chain.
U2nc employs a medical team made up of:
– nephrologists and a cardiologist;
– pharmacists operating in the company‘s internal pharmacy (PUI);
– a hundred state–certified nurses (IDE), including a dozen referents and coordinators, who train and assist their colleagues;
–nursing assistants.
It also involves the following professionals to improve the quality of patient care:
– a quality assurance officer responsible for leading the process of continuous improvement in the quality and safety of our care (standard precautions, compliance with hygiene regulations and the recommendations of the French National Authority for Health, HAS);
– dieteticians. These specialists make patients aware of a balanced diet as an integral part of their treatment and the improvement of their health. In collaboration with the Kidney Failure Network in New Caledonia (Résir), we organize therapeutic cooking workshops;
– a social worker, who listens to patients and accompanies them in the administrative procedures necessary for their medical care and the improvement of their quality of life.

U2nc employs:
– an IT department with developers and technicians. Through their work, our medical staff can count on digital databases and applications that optimize the patient care pathway;
– a technical department composed of dialysis technicians and a multi–skilled employee. Dialysis technicians have rare skills that allow them to master the operation of dialysis machines and dialysis water treatment equipment. They provide preventive maintenance and repairs.
In New Caledonia, U2nc was a pioneer: we were the first dialysis operator to offer nocturnal hemodialysis, so beneficial to patients, in several units, including those in the bush. Today, we practice long night dialysis it our Médisud center in Nouméa as well as in our units in Bourail and Koné.
